ok..now for the roadblock

Im stuck now...i have to buy the background and trim for the mystery quilt and if i want to stay with the retro feel of this i need peach fabric.  I can only find it on Ebay because either they don't sell peach fabric, or they are calling it something else.  I may have to pin my applique pieces together and take them to the quillt shop.

I have a few off the wall ideas flying around though and wonder if i could experiment with another look.

So many quilts, so little desposable income ;)

On the family front we have entered a phase of constant enjoyment and hilarity, mixed with fights.  Two boys 2.5 years apart they are fighting over the silliest toys/things.  We bought Chunk the oldest a keyboard last weekend and the day we bought it he took his shirt off, put on a jacket, and my sunglasses.  Got behind the keyboard and said "Let's get this piano started."  There are preset song in it and he loves Venus.  It's hilarious.  So Peanut, the younger boy goes to his room and comes out with a pullup and puts it on like a hood, with his little chubby cheeks smooshed together, comes out and says "hoy moymmy"  and begins to join in the dancing.

I love contests especially ones that involve quilts...Contest at Jaybird Quilts

UPDATE:  I am no longer stuck, I solved the problem...the solution???  My very large fabric stash.  While trying to duplicate a family heirloom i realized that it is in some way a tribute not an imitation.  That being said I want to bring something to this quilt that is uniquely me.  If you are making something for a friend or family member would you want it to reflect yourself and your creativity or would you want it to be like every other quilt.

I Ooooh and Aaaaah at everyone elses creations but I quilt what i want and do it my way that's for sure!...and perhaps one day my creations will create oohs and aahs in others.

Another reason I am using my fabric stash????  I have inherited 3 tubs of material maybe 4 if i had to close all the lids.

here's a hint for my quilt:  Today im going to the craft store to buy black yarn and rickrack/ribbons/fring.  The quilt has 3 dimensions!
