Extreme Living

This is the main reason I don't take many pictures. he either looks like this because he wants my camera and I won't let him have it, or ....... He Looks like this...asleep and peaceful. I haven't been blogging lately....just couldn't get any pictures or didn't have much to say. I will say that I am having some issues about my emotions...Perhaps it's just hormones who knows...I am crying at the drop of a hat. It's getting really embarrassing. It bad cause i get scared or embarrassed that i even started it and then cry harder. I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm sure its hormones cause i was weepy at family reunion and that was about where I am now...second week in august...yeah it's just about right. I wonder if there is a special pill I can take to not cry so much lol. I was in church today and while it was a great message I was bawling like a baby. Yes it touched me, but i was very embarrassed. Yesterday a woman brought some twin 2 month old twins into the scrap that i was at and they were wearing blue sleep n plays...and it was instantaneous I started crying. Of course that goes in hand with my bad case of baby fever that I've been having. I used to cry even worse before I had him in the first place. Posted by Picasa

A Fond Farewell to Hot Weather, Alas I knew ye well.

We are starting to wear jeans in the mornings now. I'm very excited, but it was a good summer despite the expense of cool air and gasoline. This was Chunks first summer to really enjoy all it has to offer. He did not do well with the swimming, or large pools of water are very scary for me. We opted for the the splashparks and man did we have a blast. I was always coming home with a wet shirt. Mostly having to run through and catch him before he ran away from me. And of course the wet shirt from having to drag him crying away from the place. We could have stayed all day, however he was sleepy most days and would start falling down and I would have to see through his desperate plea to keep playing. After all I am the mommy. Thanks to Misty for the great pics. I am usually chasing..so i don't take so many pictures.  Posted by Picasa

"this is why i've been crying mommy!"

This is the toothiest grin I've seen! He has been cutting 4 teeth at once..all canine teeth...or eye teeth..? The result is that when he's not laughing and being a silly little boy he's throwing awesome temper tantrums. DH want's to spank him when he does...im not sure that's the answer. I do ignore the behavior. Honestly when he get's sleep/food/drink/diaper he's happy, but he hasn't been hungry at lunch...cause he's sleepy, etc...so the schedules are off. Well I gotta get back to him...He had fun at his cousin's 1st birthday party...he blew on his party favor...it took him awhile to get it but he finally was walking around blowing it into peoples faces...  Posted by Picasa

a trade off

Im alittle worn down right now. I just served up Chunks dinner to have it thrown all over the place. I wasn't sitting there but I thought he would love it...So I made him sit there the whole time i was loading the dishwasher and then cleaned up the mess. I went to his room and rocked for a second and he acted sleepy so he's in the crib napping. I realize it's 6:00 pm but he took a really early one today and we were at Wal-Mart for 3 hours getting an oil change. So with the freak outs and the tantrums I guess I get the cute talking fun stuff...woopideedoo! Okay update He slept for 30 minutes but woke up screaming mad and sweaty. He ate some crackers and drank some milk and then we went to Braums for ice cream. Yes he ate some...and then had a really bad diaper. Not sure if it's cause of the ice cream or if it was hurting him anyway. We came home and he played in his new kitchen and i managed to take a few pics..not many cause he stops playing and starts wanting the camera.

yes it's time to look back....sniff sniff

I am up tonight...cramping as luck will have it, headache stuffy nose and asthma...woo hoo...but i'm not really wanting to sleep ...Oh yeah and there is no reason to cramp anymore so im confused alittle...and looking up stuff on WebMD Chunks dad is putting the movies on the computer and then we are burning it to disks..he showed me the film of him in october swinging...he was just learning to crawl....and all i have to say is ...butterbean, rolly polly...I know he was tall then, but he was a fat gushy, cheeks so sweet you want to kiss them all day cute!! And I started crying...We went to church today (jackpot! btw) and he didn't say goodbye, see ya, nothing...he started playing and didn't even look up from his fun when dh dropped of the diaper bag. It was awesome. Lots of little kids between 1-2 and he had a blast. Although it's not a picture from the actual playground...maybe I'll work on video for this later, here's a picture from the same month...He still has chubby cheeks thankfully, but he did find his neck lol!

I am no historian

Im glad I was never nominated for Student Council Historian. I have alot of family and friends who take pictures every second of the kid's life and every moment is preserved forever. I did not remember the date that my child first walked....Im terrible. This weekend was my family reunion and this is the only picture that I managed to take. I somehow left my camera on and it died. This picture will tell you that the only time I can take a picture is when he sleeps as I am scolding, chasing and pretty much run ragged all the other hours of the day. The reason the chunk looks tired? He woke up at 3:30 AM to PLAY. He cried in the pool and started laying his head on my shoulder poor guy. My mom took him back and he stayed this way for a few hours while I swam. Posted by Picasa

Volleyball

We watched Daddy play volleyball on Saturday. Someone gave him a bottle of water which he downed in a few minutes, and poured the rest out. We were there really early so it wouldn't be so hot. He ate his breakfast and drank his milk right there. I haven't had much to report except we have been fighting about him getting up on the couch/table. I'm having to punish him for it all since I really don't want him getting on couches of my friends. Sorry y'all for it now...I've let it get out of control and he really needs to learn.

Water Boy

Chunk is hacking and realizing what happens when you stick your head in a sprinkler. I love the sneeze picture it's such a familiar look for me, so he looks just like me in this pic! He's so proud to be running through the sprinkler. I finally captured his expression. This is his look for the whole time we are at the splash pad. No wonder he's tired when we leave. Another hacking and coughing picture.... Posted by Picasa

just not my day today

It's going to be short and sweet but I learned a dangerous lesson today. Do not hand your keys or let the baby hold the keys to pacify a temper tantrum while you put the grocery cart up. I actually turned and pushed it. But in that time, the chunk locked the door. The car was hot, it was nearly 100 or more by 3:00. I stood there banging on the windows saying "push the other one button" Finally he started getting upset cause i wasn't getting in the car. I ran to the grocery store told them to call the fire dept. Then I continued to bang on the door and try to get him to open the door. All the time i'm remembering those poor babies that die when their parents forget them in the backseat. Here I am watching and helpless. I had several people who tried to help, several who said "good luck" (????!!!) and one blessed lady that said "you need to call Spears (some number gibberish in my mind)" I said I don't have a cell, it's in the van. She said here's mine..dialed it. I don't even remember getting the phone, talking or giving it back. The Chunk was in trouble that's all I could think of and my god what an idiot i was...was a close second. This was slightly more crazed than when he dive bombed off the changing table and i thought he broke his arm. Having my life flash before my eyes Im used to, having his is unnerving. So this man from Spears Mechanical and Salvage pulls up and puts a master key in the door and unlocks it. The firemen who were frantically trying to save chunk kind of went "huh?" I hugged his neck...but he slipped out while I was taking care of chunk and I didn't get his name or get a chance to give him money or anything..but it'll happen Friday after payday. I also sent a prayer out to the lady that was kind enough to say Spears. Of course i would have broken the window in a few more minutes...throwing a shopping cart on the back window was my next resort.

Im Still bringing up the chunk, just too busy for pictures sometimes!

We are definitely in a period of flux. Things are happening really quickly lately. We are trying to deal with them as they come, as of late, they are coming all at once. The Chunk is understanding more and more and rebelling more and more. He really thinks he is a big boy. He wants whatever we have and wants to do everything. Latest changes are he's sitting at the table with us in a booster. He likes it and we really enjoy having him eat from the table. I've been giving him spoons at dinner to see if he will use it. He's been playing with them for the most part. I gave him a bowl of applesauce tonight and as you can see below he is beginning to catch on. However by a certain point he just wanted the applesauce and stuck his fingers in the bowl like he is used to doing. We got him a potty chair so we can at least have him know what it is. He follows me into the bathroom anyway when I go so why not. It interferes with his boy parts though so i'm not sure about it. Tonight he was acting like he was using the bathroom and I asked if he needed to potty. He ran to the bathroom and tried to open the door and then danced around till I got his diaper off. (Im thinking the whole time wow). But he had just peed so nothing happened. I did take him to a waterpark this week where he always has fun. He wore himself out and slept 4 hours! I probably should have woken him up earlier but I was tired too! He kind of rolled aroun in the crib when I went in there though. We had an interesting weekend however. We were getting the gate and the potty etc and the Chunk started whining and wanting to hug me in the store. I thought he was just trying to used the bathroom or something and was having trouble. We went to the lay a way area for the good bathroom and the workers were waiting in line. The Chunk threw up all over me and himself. The workers quickly let me use that bathroom. Most likely I made work for them. I think he ate till he threw up. He had no fever but he was eating a ton of fruit at lunch, plus it was hot. I sometimes forget how little their bellies are. Anyway I am getting ready for my week. I am loving a few blogs. I thought i should post a link here. http://shapeofamother.blogspot.com/ and http://lovehonoranddismay.blogspot.com/ Posted by Picasa

More Pictures

Okay these are the rest of the portraits we had taken. Unfortunately for DH he got hot and he gets a weird complexion when he does. So the result is that he hates his pictures...However I have edited the picture below to make his complexion alittle more normal. Logan's hair looks red! And this is the day before his buzz cut. But you gotta love his expression. I need to get him a fishing pole. I let him run loose today while the plumber was here ...don't ask :( He went straight to the stove, pulled out a pot, reached up to the range and put it on top, said "Cook." Steve didn't believe me though. So he asked Logan did you cook today? Logan said "cook" His new words are "Cool", "dude" and "yeah." While the plumber was here I said I better put you in my room cause you'll get into trouble won't you? He said "yeah" right on cue. The Plumber laughed. He thought Logan was entertaining I think...however it still didn't make his bill any less...so oh well.  Posted by Picasa

18 months used to mean so little to me

Now it's monumental. Before 18 months would go by and I might have a different car, or I might have different hair color, new job, but everything was the same... Look at this baby that is now a boy in most aspects. It really blows me away. His ability to relate to other people and kids. He is very considerate of other kids and very curious about others. He likes to laugh and thinks that he is the funniest person. When he plays, he'll always stop and give me a hug and a kiss, always happy to make the appropriate sound effect. Bundle of Energy and Happy all the time. I've enjoyed every day with my little guy. Honestly I don't think there was ever a bad day *KNOCKING ON WOOD* When He's sick I get to cuddle and nap all day with him. He's definitely been a great cardio workout! I guess I'm just writing this mushy post to deal with the fact that my baby is growing up. Posted by Picasa

Buzz Buzz

This is my Windowsill. I've been picking my tomatoes the moment they turn orange. I learned my lesson a few weeks ago when I missed a few and found them half eaten by birds. Yay Summer. The tomatoes that I started from seed are doing the best. They aren't huge tomatoes but the plants are strong and the fruit is growing close to the main stalk making it easier to control. The plants we got at the nursery however aren't doing too great. The plants got too big for my garden and the result is broken vines. We have ants as well around the peppers and the plan has been eaten by something. I haven't updated for awhile. Friday I had a playdate at my house. Misty and Trisha came over with their little ones. It was fun, but next time i'm making sandwiches. Highlights were the girls screaming when the sprinkler would get them, Logan peeing on the couch when his diaper blew off (it was heavy with the 3 glasses of water he chugged in the pool) and my food processor blowing up while making smoothies. It was a good day because I ended up getting a new smoothie maker that does not blow up when making the chocolate chip freeze smoothie, but actually produces a "frappaccino like" result. Oh and Logan kissed his first girl (lol). Sunday we had family portraits made. I made an appointment with Olan Mills. We show up 5 minutes early to find a family already taking the picture, another family choosing their portraits all inside a tiny room. Meanwhile nobody says a word to me, a mother with a grocery cart full of children are behind me thinking they are next. We went to Wal-Mart and found it completely empty. The whole process was 5 minutes long. You can't beat that. Monday we cut Logan's hair into a buzz cut. He did okay considering the noise of the clippers. his head has so many waves in it we missed some hair but after some trims it is really cute. He looks like such a boy. He had quite a bit of hair and all curly. The last month or so I've noticed alot more hair. Here is a good profile shot of his head. He is watching t.v. (of course). Okay anytime I take pictures these days this is the end result. Why? Because he loves to look at the viewer on the camera and when i turn it around to take his picture the poor guy can't take it. But, it shows how cute his haircut is...and let's face it he's cute when he cries...It's so pathetic isn't it? One last thing. DH sat in front of me to have me rub his back last night. Logan had to come and help. it was really cute. He also likes squeezing Daddy's face and Uncle Craig's too. He liked feeling the stubble I think. Posted by Picasa

Hollywood

Logan finally let us put his sunglasses on...his ears are too cute. He is getting so fun. Well he's been fun for awhile but he's just learning and doing so much. All the toys that he didn't "get" he does now. He's pretending now when he plays and acting like us. He loves to play in kitchens and act like he's stirring, and then sip the spoon. He's repeating everything we say (uh oh) this is just a short post as there isn't too much to say...I just can't believe he's my lil chunk...cause he's getting pretty tall and skinny. I think we are going to get his hair cut like a big boy. Because of his cowlick in the front and curly hair we will most likely keep it really short.

Last Weeks Water Playdate..

Lets just say that last weeks playdate at Misty's house provided for alot of Mommy heart attacks. Logan is one unpredictable silly boy. I was jumping in pulling his face/body out of the water so much it wasn't even funny. Maybe that CPR class would have been a good idea... He had to carry his full cup of water in and out of the pool each time...and drank the whole pool i swear. The day couldn't have been complete without sampling Bixby dirt...before jumping back in the pool with rocks in his mouth...lol.. that boy that boy.... Thanks Misty for the pics...

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming swimming swimming..

We had a pretty good weekend. I picked up my "Angelfood" and ordered for July. I am always so amazed at all the food. So we are more than set. Our deep freeze is full. Logan has enough fried chicken till he's 3. Well especially when he throws it off the side of the high chair. He has such a unique personality. I love it. He's always really happy even when he's sick. A sure sign of being really sick is when he's lathargic or irritated. Or happy one minute, then really uncontrollable the next. He's been doing that lately...well at mom and dad's he wouldn't sleep till about 2 am...and still woke up at 730 Anyway we went to see the DH's Family and then to mine. It was a good visit. My mom is doing awesome and she got to play alot with the boy. Friday I taught him to say "Yee-haw" when he rides his rocking horse. I guess it translates to sitting on duffle bags too. He was saying it all day yesterday and I didn't know why...looked down he's sitting on the bag in the floor. We had a pretty good visit with the families but i'm glad to be home. I'll be glad to have a weekend where we don't drive somewhere. yuck..

Slamming my head into Reality.....

Okay I've realized that I can't have the mentality of "ill eat like everyone else" I've gained 10 lbs in two weeks...yeah..you heard it hear. So all that progress and losing 1-2 lbs a week for 17 weeks is out the window...I was slipping by gaining maybe .2, .5, 1.2...those aren't bad at all. Last meeting I went to I skipped w/i. I had cramps and felt waterlogged anyway. Went on vacation. Didn't eat all the time, but sure didn't drink water. Had alcohol a couple of times. Now I'm paying for it. I'm up to where i was in March! I am back on though...I am going to start keeping track etc...Hopefully i'll start to feel better too. This week has been the headache/sinus pain week. Logan has been having terrible stinky diapers that I think are due to his mouth hurting and teething. He is cutting two top incisors, one top and one bottom molar...and maybe some more canines...I can see white places all over the place...and he won't let me look too closely. he also has alittle rash on his neck/back area. I don't know where that came from though. He's been alot of fun talking. He's saying "oh man" all the time. He's just so fun these days. His hair is getting alot thicker and he's looking so grown up . Most of his baby fat seems to be coming off... Okay....just remembered that I didn't really finish my post. Went back to ww tonight to finish the meeting...I was glad I did. I really like the leader so much more...i'll have to figure out a way to get my membership card this week and not be noticed... Anyway one guy there has lost 102 lbs. wow... On my way home I washed and vacumed the van since we cleaned alot of crap out when we unpacked. I even vacumed the trunk...so i'm sure that will last one whole day after logan throws food etc...lol.. Oh well. So Now I am relaxing screenside, drinking my menage et trois rose wine...cause it's one of those days/weeks...

Vacation Part 6

they had this Alice in Wonderland like room that you go stand in and look through a glass window and you look tiny, or large...I can't remember. Anyway Craig had to try it.... This is our only attempt at a family photo...Yeah .... You can at least see me and Logan...and Craig alittle bit. Steve wore his OSU garb that we got him for Fathers day. We kept getting double takes...I think cause he's so tall...People probably thought he was on the team lol. Oh yeah...we wanted to put angry eyebrows on Logan to complete his ensemble...however it detracted from the goatee and chops...Oh and I wouldn't suggest this face paint when teething and using pacifiers...hmmm...maybe next year. Posted by Picasa
