Elmos first Trick or Treat

Well chunk had alot of fun tonight. We were going to drive to another neighborhood and decided just to stay close. We hit around 10 houses. He had no clue what to do. He finally liked holding his bag but left it at two or three houses. One Lady said "hey she left her bag". Several people called him a girl tonight. I guess he's pretty and that's fine. One old man said "well what are you a little peckerwood?" The men that gave us candy said "well lookie there it's ernie, or fill in the blank with everyone but elmo.

Halloween!

I am so tired from the pumpkin patch yesterday. Just exhausted. I have some pictures and I have more coming since my friend took 200, and the other friend was camera happy as well. With chunk I have to run. I don't have a chance alot of times for pictures Im either chasing or distracting these days. Heres the link to the web album since Blogger will only let you do 4. So today I am awake and blogging then we are going to veg out a few hours. Coffee is the first order of the day. Today I have to carve two jackolanterns so I can have more, but still an odd number lol. Tonight we are going to take Logan to a church trunk or treat and a neighborhood near us that has trick or treaters. I was going to post the pictures but blogger was being nutty....

awwww...

This is what happens when he sits still. This morning I wake up to "mamma" at 6:45. Well at 10:30 he is pooped. So he had an early nap today. He was watching "Pice" or Price is Right (his favorite). Posted by Picasa

first pumpkin carving

Okay so I technically did it as he looked at it through the safety gate but still...It's supposed to be a dog...but it looks different...oh well.. Sunday we will do one more. Not much around here except chunk is putting himself to bed. He points to the crib and says "yeah okay" and I put him in...he points to the light and says "yeah okay." He pulls the covers on him and lays his head down on the pillow. It's crazy. No fight, no crying. Maybe all the big boy talk has sunken in. It made me alittle sad to tell you the truth. Also I was ignoring him for a minute or two and he had gone to his room and shut the door. I walked in and he was eating the desitin. So before wiping the outside and inside of his mouth I remembered to take a picture. Last time i called poison control. They said the biggest hazzard is choking if they vomit. So I just let time pass this time. It must taste good cause he always says "mm hmmm" lol.  Posted by Picasa

weekend

Our weekend started out busy busy. DH took the day off Friday and we went to the pumpkin patch, then to a pottery place for a chimenea that was too cheap to be true ..which was gone sadly, then to get his eye exam and glasses then home to meet the heater man who basically well I was going to write something about what it was comparable to but realized my family reads this and it wasn't kosher. So lets just say we handed over a lot of money... Saturday we woke up and DH ran to get our monthly Angelfood box. If you don't know what this is it's really great if you have a tight budget...or a nonexistent one. Ran Chunk to the Dr for his flu shot which was $40 and I had no clue! DH was a little upset about that and maybe the insurance will pay but really there was no choice. Then we picked up Dh's glasses and headed home where I made our picnic lunch and went to the park to meet our couples friends from church. Only one couple showed up for an hour or so. We were heading in to eat and wouldn't you know that chunk got carried away on the rocking horse and busted his top tooth through his lip. I wasn't sure how bad it was at first since lips bleed a lot but it was okay and stopped bleeding quickly. We ran him to the emergency room there and the dr said he was fine. DH was getting upset about taking him to the e.r. I don't think of those things however. Money really isn't an object when it comes to his health in my opinion. But I suppose our breadwinner is very preoccupied with that thought. It's hard I suppose but I've never been like that. Money hasn't really made me happy or unhappy. I think that the lack of it will always be an issue and that you shouldn't worry about it too much. It is important to tend to it but not to dwell on it. Anyway I let chunk wear his elmo outfit that he's wearing for Halloween. That night dh's friends came up and they all went out and played pool at the smokefree pool hall (yeah). The next morning we went to church and had a wonderful time, went out to eat and then came home. My parents came up and we all headed to the pumpkin patch by our house. It was the best patch I've been to. It's so secluded and nobody is hardly there. Nice pumpkins, rare ones, guoards. Goats and pigs for the kids to pet, a hay maze and a hay ride all for free. The pumpkins were cheap too. I got 2 big ones for $4, one fancy pie pumpkin for 2, and two squashes for $2. And chunk loved the hay maze. They also have a Christmas tree farm that I will most likely visit. The farmer was really knowledgeable about pumpkins. He talked about one variety that Laura Engels Wilder wrote about and then told my mom "you don't want to get that kind though to eat it's not good. Anyway that's enough for my novel. I'm actually afforded some time at the computer today since the kid is asleep and I cleaned the house this weekend. Posted by Picasa

im married to a babe

Our second trip to the pumpkin patch. Gone are the days of sitting on the pumpkins and letting me take pictures. I barely got 4 good poses. BUUT he loved the petting zoo. He fed the goats and just loved it. We washed our hands really well and then ran errands. My dear husband shaved his face! I love it . I think he needs to do it every summer to see his face every now and then. The other picture is from our dinner. Logan grabbed the foil that the bread was in and decided he liked it on his head. Well this is my update. I went to the dr and got an antibiotic and some cough syrup. We got steve some glasses today and tomorrow I have food to pick up, flu shots for logan and a picnic with our church... whew!

"Dad is Great, he feeds me chocolate cake!"

I don't have too much to report except the sick is still hanging on. I finally got an appt with the dr for tomorrow. Meanwhile Im sleeping or trying to in the guest room. Haven't done that since the baby was teeny tiny. Anyway chunk is acting cranky. Most likely from not getting outside enough with his sick mommy. We have a picnic planned for tomorrow with our class at church...but i doubt we'll stay long. I don't have much to say as Im heading to bed for a nap. Luckily with all my coughing and all chunks waking up he slept till 10:40! Woo Hoo. I heard him cheering on his mozart movie..uh oh...maybe later for that nap then. Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Posted by Picasa

The Man I Love

I know I spend alot of time talking about my son. But today is a special day for me because it was the day that my husband was born. I always have to keep in mind how miraculous it is that I found him even albeit later than I imagined but nevertheless he was worth the wait and the heartaches that came before. Although it's hard to tell he was born two months early at a whopping 3 lbs back in the days that the mortality rate was pretty high. These days having a baby two months early is not as fatal. His dad always says that he didn't buy cigars till he was home. His mom went back to work and visited him every night he was in the hospital so long. So not only did God have a plan for him but for me too. I truly believe that he knew he was going to make me very happy one day. He's an answer to prayers for many people and there are alot of people who love him alot. In a stage of life where he is asking himself about his value as a provider, employee etc. He has more value as a Husband, Father, Lover, Best Friend, audience, entertainer, protector, work out buddy, sounding board, pillow, shoulder, taste tester. I love you honey. Happy Birthday! Posted by Picasa

suddenly blah...

im feeling blah all of a sudden. I have no idea why. DH and I have been walking every night till last night when i made beans and cornbread, fried potatoes...yes it was evil but it's my favorite meal believe it or not. I had the priviledge to not eat it all the time I suppose. DH on the other hand always says "oh" when i tell him what Im making. I think they are tearing down the playground near our house (fingers crossed that they put in a baby friendly play area and at least leave some swings. Chunk has been having a terrible time sleeping. I'm sick of it. I feel bad for him and i get him and rock him...but that doesn't work either. I rocked him till he snored his pacifier out and was drooling on me but it didn't work. He still started screaming. It's very frustrating. That's really all I have to say. ...hopefully i'll be in a better humor later. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels at this point. Wake up make breakfast, clean up kitchen, change chunks clothes, clean up living room, laundry, clean up dirty diaper, take chunk outside, clean up chunk, make lunch, start thawing out dinner, clean up kitchen, get drink, clean up drink, change chunks clothes, get chunk to take nap, make dinner or start, laundry, brush teeth...wash face (i know). then eat dinner, unload dishwasher, do dishes, oh sweep and mop again, clean chunk. Give bath to chunk put in pjs, clean up living room, put chunk to bed...(which is taking forever) and in this i have been fitting 20 minutes of pilates and 45 minutes of walking... on another front, our budget is going well...well I have no money left but it's still okay.

fun filled week/weekend

Haven't checked in in awhile. Thursday I look chunk to the zoo to meet his playgroup/one of them. It was fun I got to meet some of the girls I had only spoken with online. Kody and Ann-Marie were his friends that were around his age.

I was so tired afterwards but met Misty and Ann-Marie at the park. It wasn't as fun for the kids this time. It's funny how kids love something one time and then the next week are scared of it. Chunk is in a chicken nuggets only mode and has trouble eating other things which really limits someone trying to cut back. There's only so many asian salad/chicken sandwiches one can eat. But the best thing I did Friday was walk 4 miles. I hope Misty's foot felt up for it I know we pushed it but it was alot of satisfaction doing that. We will try to do that soon. It sure makes it fun having friends along. Saturday DH, chunk and I went to Philbrook. I've been longing to go. If any of you remember I am an art museum lover from way back. It was so nice to go for free as a part of the Smithsonian free museum day. They had some awesome works of art. Alot of the franciscan/tuscan madonnas that I loved when I went to Italy. It was pretty impressive. They have a lone from a Parisian Museum for William Bouguereau. It was right up my alley but the grounds were magnificent and we spent alot of time walking around the formal and informal gardens. They were having a wedding there and we were astounded at what an elaborate event it was.
